US home prices slowed 5% in July


(MENAFN) While forecasts of a federal interest rate hike in December, US home prices slowed slightly in July comparing to the previous month.

Moreover, the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller 20-City Composite index increased 5% year-on-year, amid expectations of an increase of 5.1%.

Managing director and chairman of the Index Committee at S&P Dow Jones Indices said: "Both the housing sector and the economy continue to expand with home prices continuing to rise at about a 5 percent annual rate."
