Dubai Customs to participate in Hamdan bin Mohammed Award

DUBAI, 27th September, 2016 (WAM) – Dubai Customs is taking part in various categories of the 4th edition of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Award for Smart Government (HbMPSG), organised by 'Dubai the Model Centre', a subsidiary of the General Secretariat of the Executive Council.

A host of smart, customer-focussed initiatives will make Dubai Customs' submissions salient and stand out this year. Such initiatives stem from the innovation undertaken by the organisation and share a common goal of delivering better customs services that make customers happier.

"We, at Dubai Customs take great care in adhering fully to the Dubai Model for Government Services when we upgrade our services and systems. By opting for only the best of Customs practices worldwide, Dubai Customs is keen on fulfilling the vision of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, to provide government services that rise above customers' expectations," said the Director of Dubai Customs, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih.

"Hamdan Bin Mohammed Award for Smart Government is a strong incentive for all government departments and entities to go the extra mile and bring their best of services to the public," he added.

Hussam Juma Mohammed, Business Process and Enterprise Architecture Director and Head of Innovation Team at Dubai Customs, believes that the award offers a prime competitive platform for government agencies.

"Dubai Customs will be a strong contender for the programme awards this year, with multiple submissions in different categories," he said.

The initiatives include smart workspace, luggage handling improvement, issuing of transport cards and the smart gate.
