UAE nuclear power project finishes 70pct of construction


(MENAFN) Work is moving well on the Barakah nuclear power project in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with almost 70 percent of the construction finished at all 4 units of the plant.

Additionally, the main deal for the four 1.400 MW nuclear power plants was given by Enec to a consortium led by the Korean Elect Power Corporation (Kepco).

Moreover, the consortium will design, build and operate the plants in the UAE, while the first unit is predicted to start operation in the coming year.

Recently, Enec installed Unit Three"s reactor vessel, finished the building of the concrete dome for the Unit Two reactor containment building.
