DUBAI, 25th September, 2016 (WAM) -- The UAE is keenly interested in coordinating with Arab chambers of commerce and industry to increase the contribution of the private sector to national economies of Arab states and enhance the role of the chambers in forging strategic policies for economic development, Khalifa Matar Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and member of the board of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, said on Sunday.

Al Kaabi will represent the UAE federation at the 122nd session of the board of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture for Arab Countries and at the "Invest in Oman" forum, to be held on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.

The Arab union's meeting will discuss a number of topics, including issues of joint Arab-foreign chambers and certificates of origin issued by Arab countries, he said.

The investment forum will showcase investment opportunities in Oman offered by its Vision 2020, an economic development programme, in various sectors, including agriculture, industry, specialised economic zones, energy and fish resources, Al Kaabi further noted.
