US Treasury approves Boeing sale to Iran

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON, Sep 21 (KUNA) -- The US Treasury Wednesday approved the sale of 17 Boeing jetliners to Iran, in what will be the first such transaction since the 1979 revolution.
The USD 27 billion sale was announced earlier this year as sanctions on the Islamic Republic were eased in light of the nuclear deal's implementation.
More than 100 other jetliners are expected to be delivered for Iran Air in a separate sale by Boeing in the near future, US media outlets reported. (end) ys.mb
