Vietnam predicts USD17.8b in agro exports over Jan-July


(MENAFN) Vietnam's farm export income is forecasted to hit USD17.8 in the first seven months of this year, reflecting a 5.1 percent rise year-on-year, based on the latest reports.

During the cited period, the nation is projected to sell 2.93 million tons of rice to world market, earning USD1.32 billion, down 18.4 percent in volume and 14.4 percent in value y-o-y.

Meanwhile, the country is expected to earn a total of UDS988 million from shipping out 122,000 tons of pepper, up more than 9 percent in value and 26 percent in volume.

Moreover, the world's 2nd largest economy continued to top Vietnam's rice exporting markets, accounting for over 35pct of the market share, followed by Indonesia with 11.6pct.
