Qatar- Cabinet approves draft decision on restructuring the educational certificates equation committee

DOHA: The Cabinet yesterday approved a draft decision amending some provisions of decision No. 22 of 2014 on restructuring the educational certificates equation committee.

The committee is concerned with the equivalence of educational certificates of various degrees in accordance with the conditions and regulations proposed in this regard and approved by the Council of Ministers upon the submission of the Minister of Education and Higher Education.

As per the amendment the committee will comprise three members representing the ministry and a representative each from the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (engineer) the Ministry of Justice (legal expert) the Ministry of Administrative Development Labour and Social Affairs the Ministry of Public Health (doctor) Qatar University (academic) and Hamad Bin Khalifa University (academic).

The approval was given at the Cabinet’s regular weekly meeting at Emiri Diwan yesterday. The session was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Qatar News Agency reports.

The Cabinet also looked into facilitating the procedures of its approval on the validity of the retirement and pensions law for Qataris working in the private sector as an incentive for them to work in the sector.

The Cabinet approved a draft air services agreement between Qatar and Equatorial Guinea a draft air services agreement between Qatar and Guinea Bissau and a draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the area of the national archives between the Ministry of Justice and Brazil’s Ministry of Justice.

The Cabinet also took decisions after reviewing two memos by the Minister of Finance on a draft law of Qatar Financial Centre and on a proposal by Qatar Development Bank to issue a circular on the uniform national definition of small and medium projects in Qatar.
