Qatar- Emir visits Al Qassar Metro Station project


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani is briefed on the project by Minister of Transport and Communications H E Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti.

Doha: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday paid an inspection visit to Al Qassar Metro Station project to check on the mechanism of work progress and the completed phases. The Emir also listened to a briefing on the design of the station inspired by Islamic architecture and the local environment. He saw a model for its interior design that will be implemented in all stations.

A documentary on the work plan construction phases and the drilling and construction mechanism was screened at the station.

The Emir also saw a replica of the exterior of Rail Doha Metro and another for Lusail Light Rail Transit (LLRT). Both designs are inspired by the horse and the dhow.

The Emir issued directives that all paintings to be used in the project should be designed by Qatari artists.

Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani Minister of Transport and Communications H E Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti and other officials accompanied the Emir during the visit.

Al Qassar Metro Station is in West Bay and one of the Red Line stations of Qatar Rail’s Doha Metro project.
