Renault carmaker's sales fall 5 percent in August


(MENAFN) Renault Samsung Motors Co., S Korea's unit of French automaker Renault S.A., declared that its August sales dropped 4.8 percent from last year, with the fall in foreign demand to blame.

The carmaker sold an overall of 10,057 units in August, a drop from the 10,559 units sold a year earlier, while exports plunged 33.7 percent on-year to 3,856 units, as reports showed.

On a different note, Renault Samsung sold a total 140,565 units through the first eight months of the year, up 64.1 percent from the 85,668 units registered the year before.
