(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) NEW YORK Dhu-AlQa'dah 16 1436 August 31 2015 SPA -- U.S. stocks closed lower Monday after comments from a senior Federal Reserve official heightened fears among investors of a potential U.S. interest hike in September.
The Dow Jones industrial average fell 114.98 points or 0.69 percent to 16528.03. The S&P 500 lost 16.69 points or 0.84 percent to 1972.18. The Nasdaq Composite index dropped 51.82 points or 1.07 percent to 4776.51.
