Qatar trade surplus down 52.5 percent in June


(MENAFN) Official data showed that Qatar's trade surplus dropped in June by more than a half, reaching USD4.09 billion, a decline of 52.5 percent, or USD4.5 billion, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

However, the trade balance of goods declined by USD 1.09 million, or by 2.4 percent last month over the previous month, the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics data showed.

The total exports of goods, which include exports of domestic origin and re-exports) amounted to USD6.62 billion, down 40.4 percent, while total exports of goods dropped 2.9 percent from May.

Meanwhile, the imports of goods in June 2015 amounted to USD2.53 billion, showing an increase of 1.6 percent over June 2014. However, on a monthly basis, the imports were down by 3.6 percent.
