(MENAFN) Dutch electronics giant Philips said it posted an increase of revenue and profit in the second-quarter period of this year compared to the same period a year earlier, Xinhua reported.
Philips sales surged to USD6.63 billion this year, up from USD5.48 registered on-year. Meanwhile, comparable sales expanded by 3 percent helped by improvements in North America, Europe and India.
Net income also increased to reach USD302.7 million, soaring from USD268.46 million in the second-quarter of 2014. The surge was due to improved earnings as a result of higher volumes.
"We are encouraged by the continuing improvement in our operational results in the second quarter of 2015, driven by strong comparable sales growth in healthcare," Philips CEO said in a release.
