Samsung logs USD6.1b operating profits in Q2


(MENAFN) According to a regulatory filing, Samsung Electronics, South Korea's top electronic maker, posted USD6.1 billion in operating profit for the second quarter, Xinhua reported.

The company said that the profit increased by 15.38 percent compared to the previous quarter, however, it maker a decline of 4.03 percent compared to the same period a year earlier.

Samsung's operating profit got back on a recovery track in the past three quarters of the year following the record-low of USD3.59 billion in logged in the third-quarter period of last year.

The company posted profit of USD4.68 billion in the fourth quarter of last year, before recording USD5.29 billion in the first quarter and USD6.1 billion in the second quarter of this year.
