Saudi Al-Haramain Train project worth USD2.502b, largest in Mideast

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia's Al-Haramain Train project, considered as the largest transportation scheme to ever be developed in the Middle East, surpassed a total value of USD2.502 billion for its four primary stations, Arab News reported.

The four main stations are Makkah station, Sulaimanyah station, King Abdullah Economic City station and Madinah station, with costs of around USD852.94 million, USD772.97, USD466.453, and USD410.47 million, respectively.

The train will greatly reduce the congestion on the roads between Makkah and Madinah, in addition to Jeddah governorate. It will also reduce road traffic accidents and pollution levels, resulting from vehicles' fuel emissions.
