Qatar stock index falls 151.92 points


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index fell 151.92 points (1.25 percent) when the bourse closed trading Wednesday at 12,049.10 points.

The market capitalization decreased to QR641.64bn compared to QR648.74bn registered Tuesday.

The traded valued dropped to QR206.2m with a volume of 4,893,873 shares from 2,954 transactions compared with QR518.35m with a volume of 9,565,490 shares from 4,539 transactions registered Tuesday.

Consumer goods and services index gained 0.67 percent (7,419.2 points) and transport was up 0.59 percent to 2,464.86 points. Indices of all other sectors dropped today.

QSE Total Return Index fell 1.23 percent to 18,728.6 points, QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index fell 0.78 percent to 4,689 points and QSE All Share Index fell 0.97 percent to 3,224.55 points.

From the 43 companies listed on QSE, shares of 41 saw trading today. From these 18 gained, 18 fell and five remained unchanged.
