(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) China has finished the production of 90 specially designed metro trains for Rio de Janeiro, the host city of the 2016 Olympics.
China has received orders for more than 600 metro trains from Brazil so far. Chinese-made metro trains will count for more than 80 percent of Rio's rail transportation after all of the trains become operational, CCTV.com reported.
The new metro trains were specially designed for Rio, with stronger car bodies, faster speeds and larger capacities. The cars also have improved air conditioning and circulating systems.
