Cabinet welcomes end to Decisive Storm


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani presided over the Cabinet weekly regular session held at the Emiri Diwan yesterday.

The Cabinet welcomed the end of the 'Operation Decisive Storm' after it achieved its goals and the start of the "Operation Restoring Hope' upon a request by Yemeni President Abdrabuh Mansur Hadi.

The Cabinet called on all Yemen parties to respond to the 'Operation Restorating Hope', the resumption of the political process and the support of the national interest in order to restore security and stability in their country and to protect the gains of the brotherly Yemeni people.

The Cabinet praised the outcome of the 13th United Nations Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, held in Doha from April 12 through 19 with a wide international participation.

The Cabinet stressed that the success of the Congress and its results constitute significant achievement in the field of justice and prevention of crime, especially the contents of the Doha Declaration that has been issued by the congress and which is regarded as a roadmap and an international commitment that makes the world a safer and more peaceful place through the implementation of comprehensive policies and strategies in the field of crime prevention, criminal justice and the promotion of law supremacy on the national and international levels.

The meeting approved a draft decision by the Minister of Communications and Information Technology defining the fees of the frequency spectrum's usage.

It approved a draft agreement on maritime transport between governments of and Turkey.

The Cabinet reviewed a memorandum by the Minister of Administrative Development on the results of the ministry's study of proposals by the Minister of Development Planning and Statistics on the balance between the role of women in the family and the society and its role in the labour market and remarks and proposals of the ministers in this regard.

A letter by the tax grievances committee at the Ministry of Finance regarding a report on the committee's work during the period from 1.7.2014 to 13.12.2014 was considered.

The meeting took note of a memorandum by the Minister of Public Health on the results of the 78th Conference of the GCC Health Ministers Council (Riyadh - February 2015) and a letter the Minister of Environment on the results of the 18th meeting of ministers in charge of environmental affairs in GCC states (Kuwait - December 2014).

A memorandum by the Minister of Public Health on the results of the 43rd ordinary session of the Arab Public Health Ministers (Cairo - February 2015) and a letter the Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary-General of Supreme Education Council on the results of the Arab states' Regional Ministerial Conference on Education Post-2015 (Sharm El Sheikh - January 2015) were also discussed.
