QIC launches 'one-stop' drive for motor claims

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) has launched its new campaign, "QIC One-Stop," the country's first on-site representative from the Traffic Department with an insurance company.

The service is available at QIC's Abu Hamour Motor Claims branch, and aims to step up and improve customer service and efficiency of motor claims processing for damaged cars. The new campaign was launched after receiving an approval from the Ministry of Interior's Traffic Department.

Policyholders of QIC'S comprehensive insurance or a non-blamed party with damage caused by third party can now visit the Abu Hamour branch to get a police report, survey of the damaged vehicle, and submit documents for filing claims, all in a single location. The new service is available from 7am to 2pm between Sunday and Thursday.

A representative from the Traffic Department inspects the damaged vehicle, records the required police report, and provides a police reference number. Using this police reference number, QIC's motor claims department can proceed with recording the claim file and survey for settlement.

Ali al-Fadala, senior deputy Group president and CEO of QIC Group, said, "As a customer-focused company, our primary concern is to ensure that our customers are able to file claims without any hassle.

"In addition, this unique service would also help speed up the claims filing procedure and save customers' time and effort. Customers are now able to file claims easily without having to visit multiple venues to avail reports."

He added, "According to a new rule implemented by the Traffic Department, motorists will be fined QR1,000 for not reporting accidents within 48 hours, particularly hit-and-run cases or mishaps where a vehicle is damaged by unknown motorists or individuals while it is parked.

"We have introduced this new campaign so that our customers could directly visit our Abu Hamour Branch for a one-stop solution for motor claims, and would not have to pay a heavy fine for late reporting of accidents."
