QIC Abu Hamour branch to process claims

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Owners of vehicles insured with Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) that are damaged in accidents can now go directly to the company's claims branch in Abu Hamour to process their claims.

There is no need for them to visit the traffic department and collect a report on the damage and then visit the QIC's claims section.

QIC said in a release yesterday that a representative from the traffic department will be present at its Abu Hamour claims branch and he will survey the damaged vehicle, give away 'police report' and help submit documents for filing claims for repair.

The service will be available from 7am until 2pm from Sundays through Thursdays.

The traffic department representative will, after inspecting the damaged vehicle, provide a Police Reference Number. With this number the vehicle owner can go to the QIC's claims section for the needful.

This one-window service will save the car owner time as he will not need to visit the traffic department for the inspection of damage and to collect police report.

Ali Al Fadala (pictured), Senior Deputy Group President and CEO of QIC Group, said: "Being customer-focused, our primary concern is to ensure that our customers are able to file claims without any hassle".

This is a first-of-its-kind service and will help in speeding up claims filing procedure and save time and effort of QIC customers. They don't have to visit multiple venues now to avail police report.

Al Fadala said that the new service has been launched as new rules demand that motorists must report accidents, especially hit-and-run mishaps, within 48 hours or pay a fine of QR1, 000. The service will help people report mishaps without any hassles.

Founded in 1964, QIC is the country's largest insurer.
