40 countries to attend Project Qatar exhibition


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) At least 40 countries are expected to participate in this year's Project Qatar, the International Construction Technology and Building Materials Exhibition.

The12th edition of the event will be held from May 4 to 7 at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC), organisers said at a press conference.

The countries participating in the event represent more than 2,000 companies and brands. It will have 1,130 exhibitors and 21 national pavilions spread over seven halls and an outside area, covering 41,500sq m of exhibition space.

Previous Project Qatar events were participated by countries such as Austria, China, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates.

This year, Cyprus will make its first Project Qatar appearance, representing 10 leading companies through its Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry, and Tourism.

IFP Qatar, in collaboration with Qatar Chamber, will be launching this year the "Project Qatar Workshop Series," which includes eight workshops that promote the educational and commercial aspects of the construction industry.

The areas of focus include ISO 9001 & 14001, the GCC building materials industry, manufacturing investment opportunities in Qatar, procurement and workers' welfare, and main issues facing construction companies: a banking prospective.

Experts from the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, Qatar Development Bank, Qatar Society of Engineers, Gulf Organisation for Industrial Consulting (GOIC), British Standards Institution (BSI), and Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) are expected to present workshop participants with the latest technology and industry advances.

Following the success of the Project Qatar Business Intelligence Series in 2014, the series comes back this year with six unique B2B conferences that will run during the show and throughout the year: LightingTech Qatar (May 4-5), HVACTech Qatar (May 6-7), Future BIM Implementation Qatar (May 6-7), Future Interiors Qatar (September 7-8), Future Landscape and Public Realm Qatar (October 26-27), and Future Drainage Networks Qatar (December 7-8).

Furthermore, Project Qatar 2015 features a new and improved B2B matchmaking platform that will allow visitors to register and meet exhibitors that match their demand and work profile and an advanced mobile application that includes all features of the show, including the floor plan, exhibitors' list, sponsors' list, and visitors' registration form.

Returning and first-time participants will also have an opportunity to join concurrently held events: Qatar StoneTech 2015, the fourth International Stone and Stone Technology Show; and Heavy Max 2015, the 12th International Exhibition for Heavy Machinery.

Project Qatar 2015 is being held under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, represented by HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani, who will inaugurate the show.
