Arab summit resumes discussion

(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Addressing the meeting, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, highlighted the importance of finding a peaceful solution to the Palestinian problem, based on the two-state proposal, including an independent Palestinian state with Eastern Al-Quds as capital according to relevant international resolutions.
He drew the attention to the growing phenomenon of terrorism, relating it to a number of accumulating factors, among them the despair of many losers in the non-development modernization process of their countries.
On the situation in Yemen, he said the recent coup masterminded by Houthi group and former president of Yemen Ali Abdullah Saleh have dealt a serious blow to the GCC- UN-sponsored proposal of power-sharing in Yemen, sending the country to the bottom of square one. He held the Houthi group and Saleh responsible of the repercussions of the recent escalation.
He called on them to come to reason and withdraw their militias from the State's buildings and work with others to replenish the political process and give up the status-quo policy.
