FNC's 15th legislative chapter sees recommendations approved


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The Federal National Council has received cabinet approval for its recommendations on the policy of Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology regarding public health and safety, the policy of the Zayed Housing Programme (ZHP) and the policy of the policy of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs And Endowments (GAIAE).

During its 15th legislative chapter, which extended between 15the November 2011 and 13th January 2015, the FNC held 56 sessions and discussed 19 topics relating to different sectors.

The cabinet approved FNC's seven recommendations pertaining to ESMA's public health and safety policy, including development of a strategic plan to address current and future requirements, and a plan for the Emiratisation of technical jobs in that sector.

Emiratisation also featured in the FNC's recommendations relating to GAIAE's policy. The Council urged development of a plan to ensure Emiratisation of vital jobs within the Authority, including the jobs relating to Wa'az, Fatwa and Fiqh.

The Cabinet approved the FNC's recommendation to increase housing grants offered by the ZHP are to AED 800,000 from AED 500,000. It, however, turned down a motion to revise the AED10,000 salary ceiling for housing grant applicants.
