FAW-Volkswagen to recall 35,186 Audi units in China


(MENAFN) China FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co. Ltd. announced recalling a total of 35,186 Audi vehicles in the Chinese mainland to fix a defect in the fuel injection system, Xinhua reported.

The recall starts March 20 and includes 32,371 units of Audi A5, A5 Cabriolet, A7, Q7 A8L models manufactured through April 2011-February 2012, and A6L models produced through July 2011-June 2012.

The poorly wrapped fuel injection system may lead to fire in extreme cases, according to a statement from China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).

The automaker said that an additional 16,725 Touareg models manufactured between April 2011 and February 2012, as well as 9,135 Cayenne and Panamera units will be recalled for similar defects.
