ICT spending in ME grows to reach USD270b next year

(MENAFN) Spending on ICT products and services in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) will cross the USD270 billion mark in 2015 with the IT market expected to improve 9 percent annually, report by International Data Corporation (IDC) showed, Gulf Times reported.

This makes MEA the second-fastest growing market worldwide, with the SaaS (Software as a Service) segment set to perform particularly strongly, expanding 29 percent annually to total.

SaaS is a software licensing and delivery model in which software is licensed on a subscription basis and is centrally hosted.

Converged systems will be another key area of growth as more organizations look to leverage the agility, productivity, flexibility, and cost-saving benefits presented by such solutions.
