HP revenue drops on weak demand in Q4

(MENAFN) Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) announced that it registered a fall in its revenue in almost every business segment over the year during the fourth quarter of this year as the company prepares to split into 2 divisions, Gulf News reported.

During the fourth quarter of this year, the company said that it has recorded a drop in its sales by 2.5 percent in the fourth quarter to reach USD28.41 billion compared with USD29.13 billion it recorded during the same period a year earlier, while its profit declined by 2.7 per cent to USD2.01 billion.

Meanwhile, the company's personal computer division, which is its largest and most mature, registered a growth by 4 percent, though its high -margin printer business registered a decline by 5 percent.

Last month, the company announced its decision that it will split into two listed companies next year, separating its computer and printer businesses from its faster-growing corporate hardware and services operations, which will result in eliminating 5.000 jobs.
