Oman's Sezad, OOC sign MoU on Duqm refinery


(MENAFN) The Special Economic Zone Authority of Duqm (Sezad) announced it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Oman Oil Company (OOC) regarding construction work on the planned refinery in Duqm, which is expected to have a capcity of 230.000 barrels of crude oil per day and is expected to be done in 2019, Times of Oman reported.

Sezad said that the civil work on the Duqm Refinery is expected to start in April or May next year, after which the engineering, procurement and construction work will commence, with the project expected to create many job opportunities and will help support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as their services will be required in various fields.

Sezad also announced it has signed another memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Takatuf Oman, the human capital arm of OOC, for the establishment a program for the development of human resources in Duqm, which aims to qualify and strengthen the human capacity of residents in Al-Wusta Governorate.
