Qatar's GNI up 7.9 percent in Q2


(MENAFN) Qatar's Gross National Income (GNI) estimates USD50.14 billion in the April-June period, an increase by 7.9 percent compared to the corresponding of period last year's GNI estimates, which stood at USD46.47 billion, though it went down by 1.3 percent compared to the GDI in this year's first quarter, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

During the second quarter of this year, Qatar's gross saving reached USD30.66 billion, increasing by 5.7 percent compared to USD USD29.01 billion registered in the corresponding period of 2013, though it did drop by 4 percent when compared to the January-March period of 2014.

The household final consumption expenditure (HFCE) reached USD7.44 billion in the cited period, thus registering a 10.5 percent increase when compared to last year's second quarter when it stood at USD6.80 billion, with the increase in HFCE being mostly attributed to the rising population and the rise of prices rise regarding consumer items in the country.

The Government Final Consumption Expenditure (GFCE) for the April-June has been estimated at USD7.37 billion, up by 10.2 percent when compared to USD6.69 recorded in the second quarter of last year.

Meanwhile, Qatar registered USD37.06 as the combined value of exports of goods and services, including re-exports during the second quarter of this year, against USD36.18 billion last year's second quarter, thus increasing by 2.4 percent.
