(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The suspect stole jewellery of a woman patient at the gynaecology section of the medical centre which was crowded with patients at that time.The Sharjah Police on Monday arrested a 29-year-old Asian woman for allegedly robbing a patient posing as a doctor at a medical centre.
The police said the suspect stole jewellery of a woman patient at the gynaecology section of the medical centre which was crowded with patients at that time.
The suspect realised that the woman who was waiting for her turn to see the doctor had jewellery. She approached the patient telling her that she was a doctor and needed to check her. She told the victim that she needed to undergo X-ray screening and dragged her to the X-ray room made her remove all her belongings including the jewellery. The suspect disappeared with them soon leaving the woman in the room.
The victim who works in a bank lodged a complaint with the police and gave the descriptions of the suspect to the CID team. Based on these the police confirmed her identity after viewing the footage from the CCTV cameras in the hospital. On arresting her the suspect confessed to the crime and was referred to the Public Prosecution.
