(MENAFN- QNA) Qatar Exchange (QE) index closed for the weekend on a high of 13,985.98 points, adding 147.58 points (+1.07%) when trading closed Thursday.
The market capitalization increased +1.19% to QR 742.617 Billion from Wednesday's QR 733.881 Billion.
The trading value increased +74.19% to QR 812.378 Million today from Wednesday's QR 466.369 Million.
The volume of shares traded jumped +54.21% to 14,852,387 from 6,867 transactions compared to Wednesday's 9,631,501 shares from 4,519 transactions.
Telecommunications sector index continued its good run today, although closing +1.48% to 1,660.08 points compared to Wednesday's +2.02% to 1635.85 points. On Tuesday it had gained 1.85% to 1,603.48 points.
Banks and finance sector index was up 1.27% to 3,470.63 points from Wednesday's 3,427.25 points. On Tuesday it had gained 0.9% to 3,405.25 points.
Today 30 companies from the 43 listed on QE made good gains, eight dropped and five remained unchanged.
