Emirati dies as car turns turtle on Malaiha road in Sharjah


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The victim was driving at the maximum speed while he lost control over the vehicle and hit a pole causing the car to flip over several times.A 23-year-old Emirati died and five others sustained serious injuries after their speeding four wheeler turned turtle on Saturday morning on Malaiha road in Sharjah.

Police officials said the injured were all Emiratis aged between 18 to 24 years.

The driver who died on the spot was driving at the maximum speed. He lost control over the vehicle and hit a pole causing the car to flip over several times. On being notified about the accident the police dispatched police patrols and an ambulance to the spot in which the victims were rushed to Al Qasimi Hospital.

The deceased was declared brought dead at the hospital while the other five occupants of the car are recuperating the police said.

The body of the deceased was handed over to his family who held a funeral at Al Sahaba Masjid after Zuhr prayer.

The police have urged parents to monitor their children and to ensure that they are not out of the house during late hours of the night.
