Air New Zealand annual net profit up 45 percent


(MENAFN) Air New Zealand announced posting a 45 percent increase of its annual net profit, with forecasts of a stronger growth in the current financial year on rising demand, AFP reported.

The carrier's net profit for the last fiscal year, which ended June 30, reached USD218 million, increasing from USD150.83 million registered during the same period last year.

The airline's operating revenue rose 1 percent to USD3.91 billion, while earnings before tax were up 30 percent, reaching USD276.65 million during the cited period.

"Based on our current expectations of market demand and fuel prices, we expect to improve on the 2014 result in the coming year," Air New Zealand chairman said in a statement.
