Nakheel awards USD39.7m contract to Metac


(MENAFN) Nakheel Developer announced it had awarded a USD39.7 million contract to UAE's Metac General Contracting for the construction of 84 townhouses and a new retail center in its Jumeirah Islands community in Dubai, Arabian Business reported.

The developer said that the new homes along with eight retail blocks will form part of a new 608 thousand square feet waterfront park and recreational hub at Jumeirah Islands, with construction expected to begin within two months and be done in the January-March period of 2016.

The project is expected to be divided into two phases wherein Metac will first build 53 four-bedroom townhouses followed by other 31 in the second phase.

The new project will also include a fitness center, sports courts, jogging track, a retail center with a supermarket, cafes and restaurants, communal parkland, and parking.
