Passenger traffic in Abu Dhabi Airport up 19 percent in H1


(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi International Airport passenger traffic reached 9.48 million people in the January-June period, a 19.4 percent jump compared to the same period last year, Emirates 24/7 reported.

During the same period, the cargo volume coming through the airport increased to 377.885 tons, surging 16 percent with numbers expected to get even higher in this year"s second half, according to a statement made by the airport.

Meanwhile, passenger traffic in Dubai International Airport rose 6.2 percent, with 34.68 people using it, while the cargo volume decreased 1.8 percent, reaching 1.18 million tons in the cited period.

The cargo volume decrease was due to construction work on the airport"s runways, which is now completed.
