Bahrain to cut hotels rates by 20 percent

(MENAFN) The Ministry of Culture has launched a promotional program that is agreed upon from four and five-star hotels across Bahrain and will see them slash prices by 20 percent for citizens and residents throughout the rest of the year, Arabian Business reported.

Part of efforts to boost the domestic tourism sector, the promotional price reductions at 11 five-star and 18 four-star hotels, will be effective during week days, apart from during special events such as the Gulf Air F1 Grand Prix, national days and aids, Hotelier Middle East reported.

Assistant undersecretary for tourism, Sheikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa, also indicated that similar promotions will be offered to GCC nationals and residents, according to the state-run Bahrain News Agency.

"The initiative aims at revitalizing internal tourism and attracting Bahraini and resident families to tourism facilities," he said.
