(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The UN confirmed Monday its Special Envoy for Middle East Robert Serry was handed a letter from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Sunday asking for an international and independent investigation in murder of Palestinian teenager Mohammad Abu Khudeir.
Deputy spokesman Farhan Haq told the daily press briefing in answer to a question that the letter "is being transmitted to the Secretary General, who had not yet seen the letter. The letter would then be evaluated and responded to in due course." Abu Khudeir was apparently killed in retaliation for the killing of three Israeli youths the week before.
