(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Several missiles fired from various spots in Gaza Strip crashed into southern Israel early on Monday, a spokesman of the Israeli Army said.

Seven of the rockets crashed near the town of Sderot and two others hit Eshkol in southern Negev, he said, adding that their explosion damaged cars and properties, but caused no injuries.

The army spokesman confirmed that an Israeli soldier was wounded when two rockets crashed into Eshkol.

Elsewhere, Palestinian gunmen fired an anti-armor rocket on an Israeli Army vehicle near the separation wall of Gaza. The attack caused no injuries among the Israeli troops.

Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Islamic movement, Sami Abu Zahri, accused Israel of escalating tension in the occupied territories and warned the movement would retaliate for the stepped-up Israeli attacks.

Nine Palestinian fighters, including seven members of Ezz-Eddine Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing, were killed in a series of Israeli air strikes on Gaza at dawn today.
