Applebee's to expand in ME, create 600 jobs


(MENAFN) Casual dining restaurant chain Applebee"s is expected to create over 600 jobs in the coming three years as it plans to open seven new restaurants every year in the Middle East, according to the Emirates 24/7



The restaurant chain has already has 34 outlets in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, and UAE



Gary Moore, Regional Vice President & General Manager, Middle East and North Africa, said: "With the increasing appetite for out-of-home dining and growing discretionary wealth in the Middle East, there is plenty of room for restaurant brands to expand their business. Dining out is becoming a favorite activity for many UAE residents, who spend an average of Dh841 (USD228.9) on restaurant meals per month, the highest in the Middle East market. Consumers in Qatar are the second-biggest diners, spending about Dh774 (USD210.6), followed by Kuwait (Dh719, USD195.71) and Lebanon (Dh385, USD104.8).
