Russia urges Israel, Palestine to exercise restraint


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Russia Tuesday called on Israelis and Palestinians to exercise restraint and not escalate the situation after three missing Jewish teenagers were found dead in the West Bank yesterday



The Russian Foreign Ministry, in a statement posted on its website, has urged the parties involved to exercise restraint and do whatever necessary to normalize the situation



"We resolutely condemn the brutal killing of the innocent Israelis. There is no justification to this inhumane act," the statement noted



"We offer our condolences to the relatives and loved ones of those killed. We are calling on the Palestinian leaders together with Israeli law enforcement authorities to find and punish the masterminds of this crime," the ministry said



"The violence spiraling out of control could lead to new casualties," the ministry said



Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin described the killing of the three Israelis as a "brutal terrorist" crime



President Putin expressed in a cable to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu his condolences to the victims' families
