Qatar, France trade hits USD2.5b in 2013


(MENAFN) Trade exchanges between Qatar and France reached USD2.5 billion in volume in 2013, posting a 2 percent rise from 2012, according to QNA. The figures were revealed in a press release by the Ministry of Economy and Trade in Doha, which also stressed on the strong trade and investment relationship between the two countries. The press release also quoted the minister as saying that there are 51 wholly French-owned companies in Qatar, besides 100 other companies jointly shared by both sides. This is added to other French investments in big petrochemical, oil and gas companies, which make Qatar the largest destination for French investments among the GCC countries.
