UAE- Labour award for corporate excellence launched


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The main goal is to spread a competitive spirit among the staff to improve their current roles and functions.

saqr ghobash saeed ghobash the minister of labour has launched the “minister of labour award for corporate excellence” aimed at upgrading the performance of the ministry’s staff and encouraging the spirit of competition and cooperation among them.

at a ceremony in dubai to launch the award ghobash said “we will continue to manage the labour market properly and achieve organisational excellence.”

the award was earlier known as the “corporate excellence award”.

“the new name carries many messages” the minister said “especially my direct concern for our staff’s commitment to excellence... and my commitment with the leaders of the ministry to continue to provide support to creativity teamwork and organisational units.

“the main goal is to spread a competitive spirit among the staff to improve their current roles and functions and to welcome creative ideas that contribute to achieving the ministry’s vision mission and objectives to strengthen institutional capacity deliver government services with high quality and ensure that all administrative services are running with quality efficiency and transparency.”

the minister of labour’s award will be given in two major categories: administrative and functional.

the first includes excellent management outstanding office work and team work. the second includes excellence in supervision administration field operations specialised performances and technical support. ghobash said the ministry is committed to providing a conducive work environment that can work as an incubator for creativity.

major-general abdul razak abdul-quddus alobaidly assistant commander in chief of dubai police was honoured for his pioneering role in organisational excellence.

the official said the basic strategies for achieving excellence were adopting leadership policies transforming the concept of excellence into a corporate culture meeting the needs of customers building a culture of excellence among human resources and providing an environment for creativity.
