AIESEC's Global Oman supports SMEs


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) AIESEC Oman presents its newest product, Global Talent for SMEs, a networking event, Global Oman. The event, was held in May and took place in Bait al Zubair in Muttrah from 12pm to 5pm.

With an estimated attendance of 60 representatives from the SME sector, Global Oman with featured speakers like Sharifa al Barami of BizHub Entrepreneurship Centre, Lina Hussein of Zubair Small Enterprises Center, Sukaina al Lawati founder of Suza Events and Advertising, Huda al Kharusi, senior HR specialist at Omantel who provided insights on current efforts to develop the SME sector, and the challenges the sector is having in the area of human resources, and Faiz al Rawahy, vice president of incoming exchange of AIESEC Waha Local Committee, who introduced the Global Talent product.

The event saw a panel discussion that was moderated by Sayyid Nasr al Busaidi, SMEs supporter and had amazing panelists like Khalid al Suwaid, CEO Khalid a Suwaid Enterprises and founder of Love at First Bite, Salim al Jahwari, owner of Modern Enterprises of the Near East and Mohammed al Lawati, president of AIESEC Waha Local Committee.

The event, organized with the support of Bait al Zubair, Grant Thorton, National Bank of Oman, Orix, Love at First Bite, Browniz To Go, Al Jazeera Global Services and Investments, Sharakah, SAS incubation, ITA, Proshots, 1Pulse and Al Qabas Printing; will also highlight AIESEC's product, Global Talent for SMEs, an HR solution customised for the needs of growing enterprises. Global Talent allows local companies access to a talent pool of recent graduates from over 120 countries, who will assist growing companies with specific skills or on short-term projects in the form of traineeships.

Global Talent aims to foster cultural understanding, while allowing growth and development for both the company and trainee. Commenting on Global Oman and AIESEC's Global Talent program, Mohammed Saud Bahwan of the Suad Bahwan Group stated, ''Global Oman is indeed a noteworthy initiative as this will help both graduates as well as SMES. ''I take this opportunity to wish the Internship Program all the success and hope this will be another notable achievement of AIESEC.''
