Oman's Supreme Council for Planning holds meeting on Musandam

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Secretariat General of the Supreme Council for Planning on Tuesday held a meeting with residents of Musandam governorate to discuss the 2040 comprehensive economic development plan. According to a press release, the meeting was presided over by Sayyid Khalifa bin al Mirdas bin Ahmed al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam.

This phase follows the economic strategy formulation stage in March. The project's supervisory committee discussed economic alternatives for the governorate, taking into consideration opinions from all parties involved, including specialists from public and private sectors and even bloggers and writers on social networking sites.

It was hoped that this strategy would contribute to the development and employment of citizens and enhance the economic diversity and growth in Oman.

The team from the Secretariat General of the Supreme Council for Planning had earlier organised a seminar, presided over by the Governor, in April with residents of the governorate to consult them on the planning and use of land for various activities. The aim was to come up with the best strategy for spatial planning for the governorate in line with the economic strategy discussed in March.
