Egypt urges Israel to exercise restraint


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Egypt Monday called on the Israeli side to exercise restraint amidst reports that Israel was planning to expand security operations in the West Bank following abduction of three Jewish settlers. Foreign Ministry spokesman Bader Abdulaati called on Israel to stop "escalating the situation," saying the tension between the Israeli and Palestinian sides could be defused. The Israeli government announced four days ago the missing of three settlers near the West Bank city of Al-Khalil, and accused Hamas of kidnapping them. Israeli planes launched air strikes against Palestinian sites in Gaza causing human casualties.
