Joint EU, GCC ministerial talks postponed

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The annual ministerial meeting between the six-member Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the 28-member European Union has been postponed, EU sources said on Monday. Michael Mann, the spokesman for EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, gave no reason for the decision, neither did he provide any clarification on when the talks, originally scheduled in Luxembourg on June 23, would be held again. The last joint Council talks between the two blocs had been held in Manama, Bahrain, on June 30, 2013, co-chaired by the country's Foreign Minister Sheikh Khaled bin Ahmad bin Mohammad Al-Khalifa and Ashton.
