Kuwait- KRCS geared up for Ramadan humanitarian activities

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) has made proper preparations and arrangements for local and foreign humanitarian and relief programs during the fasting month of Ramadan which falls in late June. The KRCS's humanitarian activities are primarily meant to help the needy and affected people in disaster-hit areas, KRCS Board Chairman Hilal Al-Sayer said to KUNA here on Saturday. Free fast-breaking banquets, meals and Eid al-Fitr clothes are part of key humanitarian efforts and services provided by the Kuwaiti society in Arab countries, mainly Jordan and Lebanon which host large numbers of Syrian refugees, he said. The current humanitarian situation in Syria is so miserable that there should be some appropriate response in order to ease out the sufferings and woes of the Syrian people, mainly refugees and internally displaced people, he added. Locally, the KRCS will distribute free food coupons among needy families ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, the KRCS chief said, pointing out that the project will serve at least 2,000 families at home.
