Kuwait- His Highness Premier dismisses purported documents shown at rally

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The purported documents shown at yesterday's rally at the Erada Square by an ex-MP are not worthy of thorough examination, said His Highness Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Sabah at a parliament session on Wednesday dedicated to discussing the ex-MP's documents and claims. He said nevertheless he would leave this matter in the hands of the ministers of Finance and Justice. The ex-MP had at an opposition rally last night shown documents defaming high-placed government officials and government institutions and all three government branches. State Minister for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Minister of Justice Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah Al-Sabah, speaking at the same session today, said he had looked at the documents in question which he described as a bunch of data sheets with some names and money transfers with no indication as who sent the money to whom. Furthermore, he expressed dismay at the charges that were hurled in the rally at some highly-esteemed judges with the intent to soil their reputation. He said no one should insult a judge via the social networks but should refer any grievances about the judge to the proper authorities. He said any claims about the misuse of public funds would be looked into by the government through its proper channels, urging anyone who had information about such flagrant misuse, as the ex-MP and his cronies claim, to bring it to the attention of the authorities who will apply the rule of law in such matters.
