UAE- Firms bring new solutions step up fight against cyber vulnerabilities

the second edition of gulf information security expo and conference (gisec) 2014 opened on monday with the focus on critical issues on cybercrime in the middle east.

lieutenant-general dhahi khalfan tamim deputy chairman of police and general security in dubai inaugurated the three-day security event which is being held at dubai world trade centre.

the event addresses issues on global cybersecurity vulnerabilities and threats against systems applications and personal networks. the conference segment of the event witnessed a large influx of attendees due to recent cyberthreat incidents such as the heartbleed security bug which was announced globally earlier this year.

lieutenant-general tamim visited several stands of participating companies and brands which represent all of the key sectors within the industry from security software developers security software providers cloud solution providers security hardware manufacturers isps mnos police forces banks telecommunications regulators and data warehouse providers. these companies showcased their latest information security products and solutions designed to fight increasing threat to cybersecurity.
