China's Yingli eyes investments in Dubai's power project

(MENAFN) China's Yingli Green Energy, a manufacturer of photo-voltaic solar panels, intends to invest in Dubai's 100-megawatt solar power project and is also seeking other projects in the region, according to the Emirates 24/7. Dimitirios Bachadakis, Managing Director, Yingli Green Energy, said: "In the first stage, we have expressed our interest in the project and over the course of period we'll ally with partners for the next stage bidding." The announcement was revealed after the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) put out a tender earlier this year for the solar power plant to expand its energy resources. Bachadakis added: "There are a few projects on the table. We see Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries will announce significant projects in the near future. There is a lot of information being exchanged with local and regional players but nothing concrete as yet."
