Voting Begins in Egypt's Presidential Election


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Iro may 26 (qna) - first day of voting in egypt's presidential election which are being contested by candidates abdel fattah al-sisi and hamdeen sabbahi began today amid tight security measures.

the elections will end at 9pm in 13899 electoral committees under the supervision of about 16000 judges belonging to different judicial bodies.

three hundred and fifty-two general electoral committees nationwide will supervise the sub-committees under the presidential elections committee headed by vice president of the supreme constitutional court anwar rashad al-asy.

police and army forces have been deployed to secure the presidential vote amid promises by officials guaranteeing the safety of the election. (qna)
