(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Mallah may 21 (qna) - around 5200 palestinian prisoners held in israeli jails will go on a massive hunger strike for one day on thursday in solidarity with the hunger striking administrative detainees wednesday said a press statement by the ministry of prisoners' affairs.

the one-day hunger strike in solidarity with administrative detainees who have been on an open-ended hunger strike since the 24th of april protesting their detention without charge or trial will be a warning to the israeli prison administration said the statement.

"in light of the current grave health condition of prisoners; 20 prisoners were transferred to hospital after losing consciousness and others were held in solitary confinement while israel continues its intransigence and refusal to respond to the hunger strikers' demands a prompt political intervention has become a necessary step to rescue the prisoners" said the statement.
